Has written a one page note in their own words on how they will use these tools
In the classes
30 minute demo class first, then 8, 12 or 20 classes a month, one to one or a group of up to 4. In every class, your child tries one short experiment with an AI tool.. Class times are fixed after the demo class.
| Class | What it covers |
|---|---|
| 01How an AI tool learns | Patterns, examples and prediction. Your child trains a small model and sees where it goes wrong. |
| 02How a chatbot writes | A chatbot guesses the next word. This is why it sounds confident but is often wrong. |
| 03Is the answer true? | Made up facts, out of date information and wrong calculations. Your child finds the mistakes in AI answers. |
| 04Where did the answer come from? | What a source is, and three questions to ask before believing any answer. |
| 05How to ask an AI tool properly | Giving the tool the details, an example and the checks it needs, instead of a one line question. |
| 06Different AI tools and what each is for | Chat, search, tools that work on your own documents, and image and voice tools, tried on the same question. |
| 07What to do yourself | Which tasks to hand to a tool and which to keep, who is responsible when a tool is wrong, and the scams and deepfakes aimed at teenagers. |
| 08Your own rules for using AI | The tools change every year and the habits stay. Your child writes a one page note on how they will use these tools. |
A laptop or tablet with a browser, camera and microphone, internet, and a notebook for these classes. A parent sits in for the first class.
Questions
The class is 45 minutes, live, with a teacher. Most of the time is spent talking, testing and writing in a notebook. An AI tool is opened for a few minutes for the experiment and then closed.
No. Most of the course is about finding where AI tools are wrong. We do not use AI for homework or exam papers in this class.
Your child uses a few well known tools suitable for their age, in class, with the teacher watching. No student signs up for a tool alone, and no personal details are typed into any tool. One class covers scams, deepfakes and what never to share.
How an AI tool learns and answers, why it is often wrong and how to check it, how to give it clear instructions, and which decisions to make themselves.
